In 2004 I’ve made an installation for the Verbeke Foundation ‘Seven Seas Think Tank’. I wanted to anticipate on the poëtic value of water in Tarkovskys film Solaris. Water is used in Solaris as an intangible, mysterious element – because of its structure. Thats why it acts perfectly as a metaphor for the complex human psychology.

The drawings that are placed on the ‘Seven Seas Think Tank’ make up my inner world, a personal universe inspired and shaped by evolutionary processes. The water of the Seven Seas Water Tank contains sediments, minerals and other traces of organic and inorganic life, including the those of humankind. The Seven Seas Think Tank is the cradle of all life and holds the nature of our personal universe.
